It's an Addiction
December 7th, 2009

The addiction to the white powdery stuff is riddled through my family. I'm with a friend or somthing this past weekend when I get a call. It's my crazy dad who ripped apart his knee toward the end of last year and is still hoping to ski this year. I found these sweet head skiis that have pictures of half naked models on them. They are two years old and they're mint condition. Only set me back $400... Shh! You had me at half naked women Dad, just buy them and i'll pay you back later. Little did he know, I've been dreaming about those skis for ages and im not talking about the women on top I mean those skiis. The Jon Olsson pro models. LEGENDARY.
It turns out with the serious lack of white in our neighbourhood the rents needed to feed the addiction somehow. They did what every aging SkiBumb couple with money would do; roll down to the shop, blow some cash and add somthing new to the wall of 'what the fuck'. You see, when you walk into my house and then go down the stairs to the basement, there are 12 pairs of skis and 3 snowboards with a 5 person family attached to them. We live with the idea that there is a certain ski for each type of day on the mountain. We each have our short little ice skates which are most common in my family (Volkl racetiger SLs) and then we all have a set of longer "lets get our tickets punched" kind of skis where you can use other skiers on the hill as living, breathing gates that dont bounce back when you put your shoulder into them. Then we all have a pair of nice lazy park skiis that are fun for trees and beating the crap out of. It's always nice to have a selection depending on what im shredding.
Until next time,
Zeady
